POLICE have released an update after a horrific assault outside Stroud kebab shop. 

A man who had sustained serious head injuries has been released from hospital. 

Police investigating an assault outside Kebab World in Stroud back in April are now appealing for two witnesses to come forward.

It is believed that two women were stood inside the premises when the assault took place and may have seen what happened.

Officers are asking the women or anyone who knows them to please come forward as its believed they can help with the investigation.

The first woman was described as having tanned/olive skin and straight brown hair which went to the middle of her back.

She was wearing a baggy speckled jacket, black top, dark coloured zip up jacket with logos on it, black wide legged trousers and black trainers with white detailing.

The second woman was described as being white, had long straight highlighted hair and wore dangly earrings.

She was wearing a cream off the shoulder top, white and brown zebra print mini skirt with black waistband, white high top trainers and carrying a shoulder bag and brown puffer jacket.

Police were called on Thursday, April 14 with a report that an altercation had broken out in front of the takeaway on King Street at around 10.40pm.

The victim sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
