AS Summer rapidly approaches, lots of exciting things are taking place across our district to encourage health and wellbeing for all. The Lido opened its doors with a fantastic upgrade to the changing facilities. Improvements are also being made to the system that heats the water. The new programme is working well, with the addition of early morning lane swimming going from strength to strength.

Stratford Park is one of our best assets and so, linking with the lido and leisure centre to further improve the facility, we will be carrying out a wide consultation later in the year. Look out for the announcement in the press and all social network platforms. It will be your opportunity to have your say on the future of the park.

We are in the process of carrying out a consultation on all District Council-owned play equipment to ensure that the work is fit for the future needs of our Children and Parents. The outcome of the consultation along with recommendations with be debated the Community Services and Licencing committee in September 2022.

Both leisure centres are open to help keep you cool during the summer period. The Pulse and Stratford Park Leisure Centre continue to support the health of their communities with their range of activities and fitness facilities.

Coverage and information about all of projects can be found on our @activestroud pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Congratulations to the Museum in the Park’s walled garden gardeners who recently won a Stroud Town Council community award in recognition of the contribution they have made to the community. A visit is highly recommended. Come and chat to the gardeners over afternoon tea on Saturday 25th June 2pm-4pm as part of Wild Stroud’s Open Gardens Weekend.

The Neighbourhood Wardens will continue to team up with Animal welfare officers to reinforce key messages for dog owners, offer safety advice and hear concerns from members of the communities .
