PLANS have been submitted to demolish a car wash and build electric charging points at a petrol station in Stroud.
Under the plans, four electric vehicle charging points and a canopy would be installed in place of the customer car wash at Esso Dudbridge petrol station near Sainsbury's.
The shelter over the electric chargers would have glazed panels, according to the plans submitted to Stroud District Council.
The existing forecourt, Londis kiosk and Amazon lockers won't be altered by the works but the vacuum unit will be removed.
Proposed plans have already been unanimously backed by Rodborough Parish Council.
The number of charging points has soared in Stroud with electric charging points now available in Lidl, Tesco and the Five Valleys Shopping Centre.
Shell petrol station in Great Oldbury also submitted plans for electric charging points last month.
