RISHI SUNAK MP visited the Cotswolds on Sunday as part of a whisle-stop tour on his leadership campaign.

The former chancellor - who is hoping to be the country's next Prime Minister - visited the Cotswolds, plus Winchester, Witney, Devizes and Salisbury.

Rishi visited a farming venue just outside Fairford and was very keen to listen to people’s views, answer their important questions about the contest ahead and explain why he wants to be the country’s next leader.

Also at the venue were six other members of Parliament: Alex Chalk, Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, George Eustice, Richard Graham, James Gray and Mark Harper as well as the Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner, Chris Nelson.

“I was delighted to attend the Conservative Party rallies arranged for members to meet Rishi Sunak in both Fairford and Devizes last Sunday,” said North Wiltshire MP James Gray.

“I hugely admire Rishi’s great energy, his enthusiasm, and his wealth of ideas.

"He has been laying out a vision for our future which is convincing, exciting, but also fully costed, and I have assured him of my support.

"I will also be attending a rally being organised by Liz Truss’s supporters in Devizes on Tuesday and will look forward to hearing what she has to say.

"Both Rishi and Liz are first class candidates, and I will happily serve behind either.”
