ENGLAND rugby captain Phil Vickery has backed Stroud RFC's plans to relocate to a modern complex in Eastington.
The Former Gloucester star has written to Government planning inspectors, stating that the development would provide the community with improved access to sport.
A public inquiry will take place in May after Stroud District Council planners rejected the development at Eastington Park Farm.
Meanwhile, revised plans for the site were resubmitted on behalf of the club by consultants Sport Optiima last month.
