FOLLOWING the death of the Queen, people have been marking the sad news in different ways.
Across Stroud, books of condolences have opened, Church services have been planned and a location to lay floral tributes has been announced.
This list will be updated as and when new events/information is received.
Here is what you need to know
1. Books of condolence
Books of condolence have been opened at three locations across the district, and online.
They will be available for residents to pay their respects, if they wish, at:
- Stroud District Council, Ebley Mill, Ebley Wharf, Stroud, GL5 4UB
Open from 8.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
- The Pulse, Castle Street, Dursley, GL11 4BS
Open from 6am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
- Wotton Civic Centre, 2 Gloucester Street, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 7DN
Open from 9am to 12.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
And online at www.royal.uk
2. Floral tributes
Residents who wish to lay floral tributes are welcome to do so at Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud, GL5 4AF.
A dedicated space has been made available on the grass bank at the top (north) side of the main car park, adjacent to the coach bays. Floral tributes may be laid at the above addresses as well, and they will be moved respectfully to Stratford Park at a later date.
In accordance with Royal protocol, the Union flag has been flying at half mast at Ebley Mill since yesterday when the formal announcement was made.
Yesterday, Council Chair Steve Robinson conveyed his condolences to the Royal Family, on behalf of the district.
3. Church Services
All the Churches within the Stroud Parish Churches Team Ministry will be open during daylight hours today, and all weekend.
Books of condolence will be available, a candle can be lit in memory of our much loved monarch, and private prayers can be said for her, for the Royal Family, and for our nation.
Services will be held across the churches on Sunday morning and do take a look at the website stroudparishchurches.org.uk to find out places and times for those.
