By Gerb Gerbrands, of Stroud Farmers' Market

I SUPPOSE the big news of the week from our perspective is that Besley’s Strawberries have found that their strawberries have ground to a halt amid the sudden weather change of September and last week was their final market of the season. They had hoped that this Saturday would be their last, but alas, ‘twas not to be.

We have May Hofman, local silversmith and jeweller, returning from maternity leave this week and she will be alternating on a month-by-month basis with Pascale Stanley who is also returning from maternity leave!

Both our regular jewellery makers had babies at around the same time! Look out for them on the 3rd Saturdays.

Also back, as it is the third Saturday, is Karobi’s Ghee. Very popular on their first attendance last month I’ve only heard good things about their products since.

Sibling Distillery Gin are in attendance too as are Bow Brook Farm meats and preserves, Daphne and Margot children’s clothes, Candle Co rapeseed oil scented candles and The Fresh Standard Brewery; all third Saturday only regulars.

The Lavender Garden will be finishing another season so if you have plans for a lavender hedge (best planted in the autumn/winter), pay Andrew a visit before he disappears for the winter. A fabulous selection of cheeses will be a highlight too this week, as Jonathan Crump single and double Gloucester, Godsell’s wide range of cheeses and Village Maid with cow and sheeps’ cheese will all be in attendance.
