HUNDREDS of walkers are due to take on a 21-mile challenge this weekend to raise money for a Stroud charity.

The Five Valley Walk is a fundraiser for Meningitis Now and returns this year after a two-year hiatus.

The route

Beginning at Stroud Cricket Club, the charity walk goes through Stroud’s five valleys of Painswick, Slad, Toadsmoor, Chalford and Nailsworth.

Participants are able to choose between walking part of the route or taking on the entire distance.

Free Stagecoach buses will be available to carry walkers back to the starting point at Stroud Cricket Club.

Walkers who finish the route will be rewarded with a voucher for a free drink.

Stroud News and Journal:

The sponsored walk has been running for 35 years and supports the charity’s lifesaving research as well as raising awareness and supporting those who suffer from meningitis.

It takes place on Sunday, September 25.
