EXTRAORDINARY people across the region have been recognised in the New Year Honours list. 

A much-loved clown Tweedy from Giffords Circus, a young entrepreneur founder of Gymshark and dozens of community champions including Indigo Redfern CEO of GL11 community hub in Cam are among those who have been named.

The annual awards mark the achievements and service of incredible people across the country.

More than 1,100 people have been honoured, including 305 BEM recipients, 431 MBE recipients and 219 OBE recipients.

Several people in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire have received an honour for services to the community during Covid, higher education and more.
