OOH it is certainly appropriately horrid weather for the time of year, although somewhat warmer than previous perhaps. Market last week was a pretty trying day with heavy wind and rain disrupting pretty much the whole morning.

There was a lot of enthusiasm for new food stall Lhamos Momo at the market last week. Based in Horns Road, from where they normally run a take away service on the weekends, they first had a stall at Goodwill Evening and they proved so popular we thought it would be good to invite them to the market when any of the regular hot food stalls are away. Momos are a classic Tibetan dish, essentially a stuffed steamed dumpling, with either a meat or vegan filling. Those of us who are lucky enough to have travelled into Nepal or the northern Indian Himalayas will be familiar with them; a proper treat. Lhamo herself is Tibetan born and left Tibet with her Aunty in 1996 for political reasons and now lives in Stroud! Their stall will be where you would usually expect to find Funky Falafel.

Salt Bakehouse return this week along with many regulars including Niang’s Thai Snacks, Newark Farm Veg, Days Cottage Apple Juice, Cococaravan and My Pastaliscious. Usual 2nd Saturday faves The Old Cheese Room, Stainswick Farm Oils, White Lake Cheeses, Karobi’s Ghee and Woodchester Valley Vineyard will also be featuring. Neil the leather man is also back and Tim’s Vintage tools will featuring in the Flea market in Threadneedle Street.
