PLANS have been submitted to reopen a cafe in the High Street and turn it into a Japanese restaurant. 

An application has been submitted to Stroud District Council to reopen the former venue of the Socialight cafe in the High Street. 

"The purpose of the premises is to host a Japenese restaurant and bar over the two floors and terrace," said applicant Calum Spencer.  

"Ideally we could also have tables and chairs outside the front of the shop."

Opening hours are set to be from 10am to 11.30pm from Monday to Thursday and 10am to midnight on a Friday and Saturday. 

It is set to open between 10am and 9.30pm on a Sunday. 

An alcohol licence has also been submitted for the above times. 

The applicant wants the premises licence to start from Wednesday, March 1.
