MULTIPLE roadworks are in force across the town centre, causing delays for many. 

Here are the main ones which are in Gloucestershire County Council's red zone, meaning delays are likely. 

1. Merrywalks 

As reported on Friday, a three-way control - in place near McDonald's - was put in place on Monday (February 20). 

A queue of vehicles across Merrywalks could be seen at Friday lunchtime.

The works - which are to upgrade the pedestrian signals - are due to end on Friday, March 3.

2. Slad Road

As previously reported, a road closure on Slad Road, which started on Monday (February 13), is in force until March 10.

Works are taking place in a small section of the road to repair a damaged retaining wall between Libby’s Drive and 159 Slad Road. 

3. Acre Street

Due to the Severn Trent sewage works, a road closure is in place at Acre Street until 16 June 2023. 

4. Middle Street 

The same applies for Middle Street. 

5. Nelson Street 

The same applies for Nelson Street. 

6. Parliament Street 

A two-way traffic control signal is in place here at Cornhill - it is due to end on Friday, March 3. 

7. Dudbridge Road 

Roadworks in Dudbridge Road are also set to end this Friday (March 3).
