A HEADTEACHER of a primary school has praised her students after their recent success in a cross country competition.

Pupils from St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Nympsfield competed in the Wotton and Dursley Primary Schools Cross Country League, winning various accolades.

These include winning the shield for the best big school and pupil Emily Beaston winning the Senior Girls race, having won all three races this season.

The school's cross country club is run by two parents who are described as 'incredibly supportive', Mr Britton and Mrs Pinnock plus member of staff, Miss Berry.

"I am so proud of all of our children," said headteacher Clare Howells.

"This is not only because of how incredibly well they have performed and have achieved so much but for the way that they supported each other.

"At every event they were cheering each other on, running alongside each other, encouraging everyone to do their very best."

"The children have been absolutely incredible and I am so proud of every single one of them," said Ms Berry.
