A 34-year-old man must pay nearly £200 after damaging a wall at Sainsbury's in Dudbridge. 

Maxwell Moore, of Westward Road, Ebley pleaded guilty to the offence which occurred on March 17 this year, contrary to the Criminal Damage Act 1971.

The defendant also pleaded guilty to assaulting a man in Stroud on the same day.

The case was heard on April 6 at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court. 

Moore was fined £80 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 - bringing the total to £194 which has to be paid in full by May 2.

He must now undergo alcohol dependency treatment for six months and a rehabilitation activity order was made.
