A WOMAN from Stroud has pleaded guilty to stealing wine and cheese and other items from a shop.

Kelly Smith, aged 40, of Reservoir Close, Stroud, stole bottles of wine worth £64.50 and cheese worth £45.35 from One Stop Shop in Gloucester on Wednesday, April 5. 

She also admitting stealing meat worth £37.50 from the same shop the following day.

Smith also pleaded guilty to stealing items to the value of £17 and cleaning products worth £13.20 on Thursday, March 23.

The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 25.

Smith was given an 18 month conditionally discharge.

The defendant has until Thursday, June 22 to pay £177.55 in compensation - the total value of the items taken.
