TWO STROUD farmers were delighted after scooping four gold awards.

Kate and Mark Andrews, of Bisley Lane Farm, have been producing free range meat on their farm placed between Bisley and Edgeworth for the last three years.

This year they submitted four of their products for judging in the Taste of the West food awards.

Stroud News and Journal: Kate and Mark Andrews who run Bisley Lane Farm were delighted to win gold awards recently

Their Beef Shorthorn Fillet and Sirloin steak as well as back and streaky bacon were scrutinised and the farmers were thrilled that  all four of their products had been awarded gold.

“We are chuffed to bits that all our hard work rearing free range pork and grass fed Beef Shorthorn was recognised," they said.

"We’d hoped for one award but to receive four golds is amazing.

“Our animals are raised outdoors in open fields and woodland.

"We strongly believe that this high standard of living produces great tasting meat with very low environmental impact.”
