HUNDREDS of safety alarms were given out in the Stroud town centre on Saturday.

Safe Space - which was launched in the wake of horrific attacks in the town - partnered with the police to give out safety alarms plus advise about a range of issues including domestic violence, spiking and women's safety.

Located on the High Street during the farmers' market, 800 safety alarms were given out for free to residents and visitors.

Stroud News and Journal:

Chrissie Lowery from Safe Space said: "We had a great response to our event and the community were very grateful for our joined up work.

“We are launching the scheme in Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Cirencester soon.

"We will be giving out safety information and safety sets during the evening in the Gloucester city centre in the near future."
