Four restaurants in our area have been named by The Times as among the best in the country. 

The eatieres all featured in the top 49 restaurants in the country which were picked by chefs.  

One in Slad near Stroud and three in the Cotswolds made the grade - this is what the chefs at The Times had to say about them. 

The Woolpack, Slad

Among the highlights mentioned are the outdoor seating, some amazing views, and even the occasional barbeque with chef Adam Glover supplying the goods. (

Renowned for its terrace, it's listed as "one of the smartest restaurants in the area". Much of the produce comes from the site's own kitchen garden, so you can't get more local than that! (

D’Ambrosi, Stow-on-the-Wold

Hailed as a unique deli that offers some fantastic takeaway picnics.

Fool’s Delight Circus, Bampton

It's not often you can get a five-course dinner and a circus show all in one. There's a day show which has a more family-friendly atmosphere, while the evening leg is more for the grown-ups. (
