THE Headteacher of Marling School has spoken of their pride following today's A Level results. 

Most students at Marling School matched or exceeded their offers from universities, including many of the highly selective universities requiring A* grades, including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Warwick and Edinburgh.

Student Laura Mathieson achieved 4 A* grades and is going to study maths at Leeds University Stroud News and Journal: Laura Mathieson is going to study Maths at Leeds University Feeling emotional but happy about her results, Laura said it was everything she’d hoped for after a sleepless night last night.

When asked how she’d prepared for results day, she said: “I went for a little walk around Stroud with my dog to calm my nerves”.

Alfie Arthur was also up early to collect his results and is off to study linguistics at Cambridge University, achieving 3 A*grades.

Alfie said: “I’m very surprised but hugely relieved with my grades.

"I’m looking forward to studying a subject I’m truly passionate about, and I’m extremely grateful to Marling for all the support they’ve given me over the last couple of years.

"I’ll be celebrating later with a Pimms!”

Courses cover a wide range from anthropology to physics, medicine to music.

 Other students are taking a different pathway including Central St Martin’s Art School, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and Cornell in the US. 

Some students have secured higher apprenticeships in a variety of industries, like GE Aviation Systems, Renishaw Engineering and Leonardo Aerospace.

Remarkably, three sets of twins were on site this morning to collect their results, including Biba and Loula Meshhedani Goymer, Peter and Jonathan Parker, and Felix and Elliot Gregory.

Biba continues her studies at Central St Martins Art School, whilst Loula will be sitting English at York University.

Peter gained 4 A* grades will be studying natural sciences at Cambridge University, and Johnathan achieved 3 A* and A grades and is also off to Cambridge studying Engineering.

Both Felix and Elliot who achieved 4 A* grades, will be continuing their studies together, sitting Maths at Durham University.

Commenting on how he’ll be marking his A-Level results, Elliot said “I’ll be having my braces removed later!”
