POLICE have released an update after protesters gathered in Stroud yesterday evening to demonstrate against controversial commentator Katie Hopkins.
Multiple groups gathered outside the Star Inn to protest against Ms Hopkins’s comedy show at the Star Inn at Whiteshill last night, Thursday, September 7.
According to Ms Hopkins, more than 100 people attended her Speakeasy event.
A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said no arrests were made and the ‘protest concluded safely'.
"Police attended a protest against an event which was taking place in the Whiteshill area of Stroud yesterday evening, Thursday, September 7,” a statement reads.
"Officers were there to ensure public safety while allowing people their right to carry out a safe and peaceful protest.
“No arrests were made and the protest concluded safely.”
