HUNDREDS of walkers took on a gruelling 21-mile challenge across the area over the weekend to raise money for a Stroud-based charity.

Walkers of all ages and abilities tackled the Five Valley Walk on Sunday, September 24 fundraising for Meningitis Now.

Families, groups and individuals trekked on the walk that supports the charity’s research as well as raising awareness and supporting those who suffer from meningitis.

Walkers stomped across Stroud’s Five Valleys of Painswick, Slad, Toadsmoor, Chalford and Nailsworth for the fundraising event now in its 36th year.

Coincidentally, today, Monday, September 25 marks ten years since the Meningitis Trust and Meningitis UK merged to create Meningitis Now.
