SPANDAU Ballet star took over the DJ decks at a popular late night venue in Cirencester over the weekend.

ReVA Nightclub - which is located in Bishops Walk in Cirencester - was transformed into an 80s time capsule on Saturday, September 30.

Martin Kemp - best known as the bassist in the new wave band Spandau Ballet and for his role as Steve Owen in EastEnders - entertained enthusiastic attendees with four hours of iconic tunes.

Attendees pulled up to the sold-out event in their finest shoulder padded jackets, ra-ra skirts and leg warmers.

General manager Jason Baker said: "I've never seen so many shoulder pads and leg warmers!"

This event was part of a series of celebrations that the venue has hosted this year to mark its 10th anniversary.

The venue has been pulling out all the stops to thank its loyal patrons, for example it has given away £3,000 worth of festival tickets to events such as Reading, Creamfields, Boomtown and Nass.

Following the successful Martin Kemp party, which deviated from the usual nightclub hours by taking place from 7pm to 11pm, the late night venue has decided to host three similar events next year which will feature live music from tribute acts of iconic bands such as ABBA and Oasis.

Tickets for these upcoming events are available for just £5 on www.revanightclub.co.uk

The team at ReVA Nightclub has also announced that there will be a major upgrade to the club's lighting and sound systems in the near future.

This exciting transformation is set to be revealed in December.
