STROUD's Food Hubs are appealing for people to help them stock up their donation larders with cooking essentials.

The Network of Stroud Hubs (NoSH) has launched a Harvest Collection campaign.

Residents can donate non-perishable goods at various points throughout the town.

Stroud Town Council is supporting the appeal, which runs until December 7, and Wheatley Printers have sponsored the posters and stickers

Annie Page, Food Coordinator for NoSH, said: “Dry goods are vital to the hubs over the winter so we are asking people to buy one extra when they are in town and drop a packet, tin or can of food into one of the bright green donation points."

“We’re looking forward to people supporting the town centre businesses while feeling good about being generous to Stroud residents who need some extra support.”

Stroud News and Journal: Jack Simpson, manager of Five Valleys who is hosting a collection point outside Home Bargains and

“Thank you to the volunteers in the six hubs who work so hard to distribute food through their community pantries.

"They are touching lives every day, now more than ever in the cost-of-living crisis.

"Last year we had some great donations including a large donation of oats, if you have a larger donation, please get in touch on 07947 207077.”.

People can drop off donations at: Subscription Rooms shop, Five Valleys Mall near Home Bargains, Stroud Valleys Project, Duckling’s Toy Shop, Sunshine Foods and Curio Lounge. There will be additional collection points later at: Lansdown Gallery,
The Prince Albert Pub, Philip Ford & Sons (Cainscross), Stroud Town Council Offices, Four Seasons Food Shop, The Carpenter’s Arms, Westrip and Gastrells Primary School.

Jack Simpson, Five Valleys centre manager, said: “We are pleased to support the Harvest Collection donation points in our lovely mall.

“We will position our donation point outside Home Bargains so that customers can buy one extra - one for them, one for someone in need.

"Why not get something non-perishable from Armadeli or Home Bargains and pop it in the box for NoSH to distribute into the community where it can really make a difference?

“Five Valleys loves connecting with Stroud residents and hopes to host more initiatives with the Network of Stroud Hubs in the future.”
