A BUSINESS which has a branch in Stonehouse has been celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Norville Opticians, an establishment founded in 1898, is proudly celebrating 125 years.

From humble beginnings as a small jeweller and spectacle makers, Norville Opticians has blossomed into a network of five well-established opticians, firmly rooted in the fabric of Gloucestershire and Bristol.

The Stonehouse branch, established in the 1970s, has forged bonds with its patients and the surrounding community.

Dispensing optician and director at Norville Opticians (Stonehouse), Julie Baines, said: “Over the past 125 years, the Norville teams have poured heart and soul into our practice and the community.

“It's our enduring connection with our community that has allowed us to provide exceptional eyecare services to Stonehouse and the broader Gloucestershire region.

"We take immense pride in maintaining the high standards of clinical excellence our patients have come to rely on.”

In celebration of their 125 years of service, the team are holding a special open day event on Friday, November 17 in partnership with the independent British eyewear company, Wolf Eyewear.

Optometrist and joint Director, Kerry Irvine, added: “The team are all really excited for this event!

"It’s a really lovely opportunity to celebrate our 125th birthday alongside a celebration of local independent eyewear.

“It will also be a great opportunity to see lots of our patients and treat them to a fun day at the practice as thanks to their longstanding loyalty with us.”

Throughout their history, the Stonehouse practice has been a supporter of the local community, participating annually in events such as the Stonehouse in Bloom competition, and lending their support to the Stonehouse Community Awards and Christmas markets.

Julie Baines added, "We are profoundly grateful to share this momentous anniversary with our loyal patients, some of whom have been with us for generations.

"Our journey wouldn't have been the same without them."
