A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was taken to hospital to be treated for bruising and a concussion after a man assaulted him on Thursday.

The incident happened at around 5.50pm on Thursday, December 14 when three teenage boys were walking through the multi-storey car park at Asda in Bruton Way, Gloucester.

A verbal altercation took place between two of the boys and a man.

The man chased the boys to Napier Street and punched the 13-year-old boy who was later taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

He also threw both of the boys to the floor and demanded that they hand over a mobile phone.

It is believed that the man had parked a black Vauxhall Corsa with a red stripe in the car park and returned to his vehicle with the phone following the assault.

Police would like to identify the man who is white, of muscular build and aged between 30 and 40.

He was wearing a black shirt, shorts, trainers, a cap and glasses at the time of the incident.
