A FOOTBALL club in the area has relaunched a women's team 70 years after it previously had a side.
Berkeley Town FC, which had a female side in the 1950s, recently set up a new women's side.
Berkeley Town FC Ladies - who trained for the first time in September - have in the recent weeks seen their numbers grow.
The team is now looking for more players as the club aims to play league football next season.
A club spokesperson said: "We were approached at the start of the season by our manager Jess who was looking to form a new ladies team.
"We endorsed this completely from the start and wanted to incorporate the ladies team into the club rather than set up a new one.
"It has always been something I have wanted the club to do.
"We are now trying to give the player recruitment a further push as we’re appear to be a few short from getting a regular 12/13 lady squad to start playing friendly matches.
"Then we will aim to join the Gloucestershire Women’s county league in division 3 next season.
"Everything is in place with a new kit purchased."
Training is on the 3G six-aside pitch at Berkeley Town football club, Canon Park, Berkeley every Thursday between 7.30pm and 9pm.
