Sue Ryder has a special place in our hearts. My husband sadly lost his Dad, Ian Brown, in 2020 after his short stay at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.

Every year since Ian's passing, we volunteer to help with the Christmas Treecycling Gloucestershire scheme as our way of giving back and saying thank you to this amazing and vital charity.

We run a local event hire business so our large van comes in very handy when collecting trees! It’s great to get out and about in the community knowing you are making a difference and it’s a perfect way to start the new year. We start early in the morning armed with our list of collection addresses, gloves and high vis coats. It’s a really fulfilling feeling when you complete your list of collections knowing that its helped raise funds for such an important local cause.

Thinking of volunteering? Now is your chance. Sue Ryder is looking for vans, drivers and volunteers to collect real Christmas trees. Your contribution plays a vital role in helping Sue Ryder continue to offer compassionate palliative care and bereavement support to your local community.

To sign up to volunteer, contact the fundraising team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice on 01242 246 270 or email: leckhampton.fundraising@sueryder.org
