A STROUD BUSINESS celebrating its centenary has recently undergone a revamp. 

Stroud Vision Centre now incorporates Limberick Opticians who were another local independent opticians established in 1924 that joined forces with them, meaning the business is celebrating its 100th anniversary. 

Over the past six months, the opticians situated in George Street, says it has dedicated its efforts to enhancing the quality of service offered to their valued patients.

The refurbishment project has brought about several which the company says is aimed at 'ensuring a more comfortable and efficient experience for all.

There is a new testing room which allows for more patients while the practice has reinforced its team by welcoming new resident optometrist, Louise Rowan, and dispensing optician, Rachael Dowdeswell, adding a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the existing staff.

These additions enable the practice to further develop their vast range of services, including specialisation in areas such as dry eye and myopia management services.

Louise Rowan has been an optometrist for over 10 years, developing a keen interest in services such as myopia management and paediatric optometry.

She said: “I wanted to be part of a small, passionate and dedicated team who aim to provide high quality eyecare with a personal service.

“Being part of Stroud Vision Centre allows me to do this while always keeping to the very latest clinical guidance.”

Dispensing optician, Rachael, qualified in 1994 and has since specialised in dry eye services as well as spending 5 years working in a school assisting children with additional needs.

Speaking on her passion for the profession, Rachael stated, “I pride myself in offering a friendly and professional frame styling experience to patients, providing them with the best visual performance and ensuring they leave the practice feeling fabulous in their new frames.”

Practice Manager, Anita Herring, said: "We are thrilled to finally complete our newly refurbished practice just in time for our 100th anniversary of caring for the eyes of the Stroud community.”
