A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a cyclist was hit by a Ford driver last night.
A black Ford Focus driver is alleged to have hit a male cyclist, who is aged in his 20s, on Hucclecote Road in Gloucester at around 8pm on Sunday, January 21.
Members of the public attended to the injured cyclist before paramedics arrived.
The cyclist was then taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.
Officers have urged any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward.
They would also like anyone who has dashcam footage which shows what happened leading up to the crash to get in touch.
The road reopened at around 10.30pm last night but investigations remain ongoing.
Information can be provided to the police by completing a form on Gloucestershire Police's website quoting incident 368 of January 21.
