A MAN lashed out at a police office following an incident in Stroud town centre on Saturday night.
Police were called to Kings Street in Stroud at around 11.50pm on Saturday night (20 January) following a report that a man had broken into Subway and was being aggressive towards a female.
A police spokesperson said: "The suspect, a man in his 30s, was apprehended in Kebab World where officers arrested him on suspicion of burglary and common assault.
"During the arrest the man became violent, lashing out and injuring an officer who sustained cuts and bruising to his knee and hand.
"The man was then arrested on further charges of resisting arrest and assaulting an emergency worker.
"A woman, also in her 30s, kicked a police officer and was arrested for assault on an emergency worker.
"They were both taken into police custody and later released on police bail pending further enquiries."
