A LAW graduate drove a neighbour out of her home with a campaign of harassment, death threats, chanting and 'sinister laughing', a court heard.

Gloucester Crown Court heard how Daisy Abraham, aged 42, of Lyndon Morgan Way, Leonard Stanley, made the woman's life a 'living hell'.

After a seven day trial, Abraham was convicted of stalking and harassing her neighbour, who lived in a flat below her, between May 28 and July 3 last year.

Jurors were told that the whole episode had been a 'nightmare' that consumed the victim's life.

The trial heard how Abraham repeatedly stomped on the floor of her flat, threw water out of her window into the victim's flat, shouted at her and mocked her by chanting and asking if she was coming out to play.

Abraham also ripped up a Bible and placed it on the victim’s car.

She denied conducting a course of conduct which amounted to stalking and harassment.

The jury had heard that the harassment began soon after the victim moved into the flat below Abraham

Abraham challenged the woman about loud music, which was turned down immediately, said prosecutor Omar Majid.

But that didn’t pacify Abraham, who then complained that the washing machine and microwave were too noisy, which prevented the victim from using them.

Things escalated during the early hours of May 31 when Abraham told the woman she was going to 'kill' her, adding 'This is between me, you and God’, said Mr Majid.

That night while the woman was asleep, Abraham pulled open her window and shouted ‘surprise surprise'.

The court also heard how Abraham would make sinister laughing noises at the woman which lasted some 13 minutes on one occasion.

On many occasions the victim was forced to leave her flat during the early hours of the morning and stay with her daughter, the court heard.

On June 2 the victim arrived back at the flats to find Abraham standing in the front door.

“Abraham made a gesture to her with her fingers and put them across her throat in a cutting gesture," said Mr Majid.

Over the next few days, Abraham continued to stamp on the floor and again began chanting 'are you coming out to play?’

On June 6, the victim was woken by Abraham chanting her name and saying 'you are going to die.'

Eventually, the victim reported the allegations to the police and Abraham was arrested on June 7.

She was released on police bail and was told not to have any contact with the victim.

The court heard that at the end of June, the victim returned briefly to her flat and was in her kitchen when she noticed a liquid coming into her window.

She looked up she saw Abraham entering the contents from a container.

On June 30, the victim returned to live back at her home full time and had only been in a few minutes before Abraham started chanting 'come out to play’ and began stomping on the floor before slamming doors and windows.

Later that night she was heard singing Kumbaya My Lord loudly for over an hour.

On another occasion, a torn up copy of the Bible was found on the victim's car and Abraham was heard to shout out 'I’ll kill you', the court heard.

Abraham, who has a law degree, represented herself and rejected all the allegations.

In a statement, the victim said: "Abraham was fixated on me. This was a living hell. This nightmare is completely consuming my life."

Abraham, who has mental health issues and has spent time in Wotton Lawn psychiatric hospital, was jailed for a year on January 18 but freed almost immediately due to time served on remand.

An indefinite restraining order was imposed
