A NEW CHARITY shop has opened in Stroud High Street.

PDSA, a vet charity for pets in need, has opened the doors of its brand-new shop in Stroud.

Inside the new store are sections for everything from pre-loved fashion, shoes and accessories to piles of second-hand toys, shelves of books.

There's also plenty of new goods too – with some perfectly fitting animal themed goods.

Emma Phillpott, retail development manager at PDSA said: “We’re thrilled to open a fantastic new store in Stroud, offering our complete range of new items as well as some great bargains all under one roof.

"The new store will play an essential role in raising awareness of our charity and funds for the essential care and support we offer to people and their pets.

“With our current Vet Your Clothes campaign underway, we’d encourage locals to ‘vet their clothes’ and donate any unwanted pre-loved items to the new shop.”

All of the funds raised items sold within the charity shops go to supporting PDSA’s vital veterinary work across its 48 Pet Hospitals throughout the UK.

The charity cares for hundreds of thousands of pets every year and supports owners through times of need.

Emma added: “For those who would like to support our work in other ways – perhaps you give the gift of time and volunteer in one of our charity shops.

“Purchasing from the charity shop also goes a long way to supporting our charity services, with every penny counting.

"We also have an eBay storefront, and our Vet Your Clothes campaign features two gorgeous dresses, donated by Fearne Cotton and Sarah Jayne Dunn, which can be purchased through the eBay website."

The shop is located at: 11 High Street, Stroud, GL5 1AU
