A NEW fitness studio is due to open at the shopping centre in Stroud.

Jo Weaver has been offering personal training and fitness coaching to residents in the region on a mobile basis since 2018 – but wanted to branch out and have a permanent base she can bring clients to and also to provide more affordable small group sessions.

Customers interested in boosting their fitness and general wellbeing can find Jo at Red Kite Fitness from the top level of the multi-storey car park, next door to the Five Valleys Medical Practice at Five Valleys, from Monday, February 19.

Ms Weaver said: “It has been great getting out and about over the last few years to visit people in their homes and in beautiful public parks but now is the time to open up a permanent base.

Stroud News and Journal: The new fitness studio at Five Valleys Shopping Centre“I would like to host more group sessions as sometimes exercising with other people can really help you along on your fitness journey.

“As well as benefiting from the training, it also acts as an opportunity to meet new people, and to make new friends.”

“When I was looking for a base, I thought Five Valleys was the perfect place, it is right in the heart of Stroud and is a real community hub.

“So why not drop in and let me help you on your fitness journey!”

After many years of enjoying sport and fitness and following the birth of her daughter in 2014, Jo decided to make a change to her working life and to take her interest in sport and fitness to the next level.

The 44-year-old qualified as a REPS level 3 Personal Trainer and Master Trainer at the European Institute of Fitness and set up her business soon after in 2017.

As a personal trainer Jo specialises in helping her clients to improve their overall health and wellbeing through a combination of exercise, nutrition and mindset coaching.

All are welcome but Jo generally works with people who are either new to fitness/gym based exercise or those who have lost their way a little and are looking to find a way back into exercise in a friendly, supportive and non-judgemental environment.

Kelly Winkworth, assistant centre manager at Five Valleys, said: “We are like a family here at Five Valleys and are so happy to welcome Jo to our team.

“With Jo’s personalised fitness studio, health food options, a range of shops, a cinema and bowling, we can really can cater for a great day out here at Five Valleys.”
