The Fresh Standard Brew Co due to reopen next month

The Fresh Standard Brew Co - based in Merretts Mill Industrial Estate off the Bath Road near Nailsworth - will reopen its doors next month. 

It was previously closed to the public for a brief period while renovations were underway.

The reopening evening on Friday, March 1 will take place at its new and improved Tap Room with delicious food on offer by local business Mama's Family Food. 

The event will also include live music by local band Cellar Door starting at 7pm. 

The company, which used to be based in Aston Down, was founded by husband and wife team Richard and Charlotte Taylor in November 2020. 

Their beers contain the four traditional ingredients of water, barley, hops and yeast and are vegan friendly. 

The brewery makes distinct, hoppy ales inspired by the Stroud Valleys. 

Charlotte said: "We are thrilled to reopen our Tap Room doors and welcome our community back in after these exciting renovations.

"With a fresh look, great beer, fantastic food, and live music, we are ready to kick off a year filled with good times and memorable experiences.”

Richard said: "We are not only reawakening our Tap Room but also extending our reach to some fantastic local pubs. 

"Our craft beers can now be enjoyed regularly at The Royal Oak in Woodchester and as guest beers at select pubs like The Ship, The Prince Albert, The Bowbridge Arms, The Golden Fleece, and The Townowl Taphouse. 

“We are excited to bring our community closer together through our craft beers and shared experiences."

The brewery’s beer lineup includes its 2023 Export Porter (7.4%), Solution (4.8%), Horse Brass (4%), Wintersweet (3.9%), Soft (5.2%) and Bryter (3%). 

The brewery is located in Unit 25, Merretts Mill Industrial Estate, Nailsworth, Stroud. 

Starting March 1, The Fresh Standard Tap Room will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 2pm to 9pm and on Sundays from 2pm to 6pm. 

The Fresh Standard can also be found at Stroud Market every second and third Saturday of the month. And the new Stroud Vegan Market on the last Sunday of the month.
