A MAN was arrested following a dramatic incident outside McDonald's in Cirencester.
Police were called after reports that a man had allegedly assaulted a woman before stealing her car in the fast-food chain's car park in Cricklade Road, Cirencester around 7.50pm last Tuesday, February 27.
The vehicle was then crashed and a man fled the scene.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire police said officers then used a taser to detain a man who had become violent.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of five counts of assault causing actual bodily harm.
He was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of stealing a motor vehicle and taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed what happened or who has mobile phone footage to make contact.
