THE Stroud News and Journal Community Awards have launched and entries are flooding in to win an accolade.

The awards would not be possible without the support of sponsors Schreiber Food in Stonehouse.

Schreiber believes in giving back to the community putting in lots of hours of voluntary work and supporting many local charities.

The company also provides vital insights into risk management and culinary expertise as well as producing some of the UK's best known brands.

A spokesperson for Schreiber said: "Over many decades, we’ve created and refined systems and processes to help ensure our food meets safety standards around the world. We hold our suppliers to the highest food safety standards, too.

"We’ve also taken a lead role in working with dairy companies around the world – including our competitors – to advance food safety guidelines and practices so people everywhere can feel good about the way their food gets from the farm to their plate."

Why is Schreiber sponsoring our awards this year?

Supporting the local community is one of our goals. Last year we did over 2,000 hours of voluntary work for local homeless charities plus during our week of giving our partners donated food goods for Stroud food bank.

"Sponsoring the community awards is a natural thing for Schreiber to do to give back to the community."

Do you have any active community projects at Schreiber?

"During our week of giving we will be doing more voluntary work and also collections again for Stroud Food Bank."
