A BENEFIT gig at the Prince Albert in Stroud raised money for the Blue Lantern Homelessness Project on Saturday night.

The evening was an eclectic mix of poetry, words and readings.

Stuart Butler, Elvis McGonagall, JLM Morton, Jonny Fluffypunk and Ronnie McGrath plus guests attended.

Steve Gower, campaigner and advocate for the homeless, discussed his documentary film Black Dog Way and The Blue Lantern Pilot Project to create sustainable temporary living for the homeless.

Jonny Fluffypunk performs poetry that fuses 'bittersweet autobiography, political disillusionment and surreal whimsy' while Stuart Butler is more of a psycho-geographical writer.

Elvis McGonagall is a Scottish poet and stand-up comedian based in Stroud, JLM Morton is a writer, poet, editor and teacher while Ronnie McGrath describes himself as an 'artist, writer and poet, whose interest lies in the surreal, avant-garde, and the absurd'.
