FOR a little while during 2023, the 2nd Saturday of the month was our quietest market of the month in terms of regular bookings.

This meant we were able to add some things, so now, especially this month, it is at full capacity, with some additions and seasonal returners. Firstly we were chuffed to be able to offer Bibury Trout Farm a second pitch per month, meaning they will now be at market fortnightly on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. They have proved very popular with customers and were very keen to increase their attendance.

Returning for the new season is unusual plant man Malcolm Allison who won’t be in the pitch outside the Toy Shop as he was last year. You will find him behind the egg stall on Union Street, above the veg aisle. This will herald the return of our plant stalls over the next few weeks with The Lavender Garden, Julian Harvard, Hotch Potch veg plants and Malvern Salvia all due to return shortly. Of course, Pat’s Plants in the square goes round the whole year and Down to Earth were in last week with primarily food plants.

So other stalls to look out for this week are The Boutique Distillery (Gin and Rum), Fire Cider, Stainswick Farm Oils, Woodchester Valley Vineyard, Riven Oak Design, and The Stencil Shed.

It is Mother’s Day on Sunday and with so many choices I’m sure you will a top Mother’s Day gift at the farmers’ market.
