THE FAMILY who run a village pub have thanked the community after deciding to move on following more than a decade of pulling pints.

Former owner Lajos Mayer who has run the pub for over 10 years, recently decided to call it a day at the Vine Tree in Randwick.

Lajos, who owned it with his wife Jana and sons Lenny and Maxi, said: "We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to all of you who have been a part of our awesome pub over the past 11 years.

"It's with mixed emotions that we share the news we are sold our business but we couldn't leave without saying how much your support has meant to us.

Stroud News and Journal: Family who ran Vine Tree in Randwick have called it a day after 11 years

"To our amazing regulars, you guys have made this place feel like home.

"Your laughter, your stories, and your friendship have been the heart and soul of this pub.

"And to our friends who have joined us for countless good times, your energy and enthusiasm have made each day a blast.

"Your contributions have been invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for the relationships we have built with each one of you.

"It has been a pleasure serving the community and being a part of the vibrant Stroud Valley.

"We will cherish the memories and experiences shared during our time here.

"As we close this chapter, let's not forget the memories we've made here.

"Let's carry them with us as we move on to new adventures.

"And hey, who knows, maybe our paths will cross again in another place.

"We handed over the business on February 29 and wish the new owner all the best.

"Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of our journey."

The Vine Tree is still open and is under new ownership.
