Over the past few weeks the letters page of SNJ has printed letters of conflicting opinions about Brexit; the result of Referendum whether UK should remain within the EU or not. The British public voted OUT.

The EU was a running sore within the two main political parties with pro and anti supporters in both camps. Boris Johnson promised Brexit and by doing that he ‘borrowed’ many northern red-wall seats from Labour to ensure it happened.

The debate on benefits of leaving the EU is now academic.

The recent controversy about foreign firms desecrating the national symbols on our country’s sporting replica shirts is a strong reminder why most voted OUT in Referendum. England / UK is a proud country, not been militarily conquered for practically 2,000 years and not part of the European mainland.

During those two millennium we have developed an independent mindset away from Europe where country boundaries were constantly shifting.

Thank goodness supporters have refused to buy these shirts, leaving their producers with egg-on-their-faces and a massive drop in expected profit.
