A VITAL organisation supporting families in Stroud is looking for new premises.

Kids Stuff is a Community Interest Company (CIC), or Social Enterprise that is part of The Grace Network based at Brimscombe Mill, alongside: The Furniture Bank, The Long Table and The Bike Drop.

Director Anna Lewis said: "At Kids Stuff we believe that every family should have access to the things they need to thrive.

"Our vision is to create a circular economy where families in the Stroud District pass us their gently used children’s items to be reused by families in need of support, families who have restricted budgets and families that want to use recycled items to reduce their impact on the environment.

"Our mission and aim is to provide support for the children and their families in our district."

Kids Stuff was started in 2013 by the Stroud District Foodbank. They collected clothing, children’s toys and equipment and gave them to families in need of support. In 2017, whilst based at Brimscombe Port, The food bank passed Kids Stuff to The Grace Network to became a Community Interest Company (CIC).

"In 2021 we moved premises from Brimscombe Port across the road to Brimscombe Mill.

"At Brimscombe Mill we have been able to create what we have today, a vibrant, working, social destination open to everyone.

"We have a dedicated warehouse team who take in and sort the donations, of gently used childrens items, that we are given.

"Our warehouse is open to take donations: Wednesday - Thursday and Friday 10am-2pm.

"Our shop team keep our onsite shop full of clothing, toys, books, baby equipment and much, much more to suit 0-11 year olds.

"Our shop is open Tuesday -Friday 10am-2.30pm, Thursday 4.30-6.30pm and Saturday 10-4pm.

"We are currently holding a monthly Teen Stuff pop up sale. Selling clothing for 12-16 year olds, with the same ethos and focus on building awareness of our effect on the environment and sustainability. Next Teen Stuff pop up sale Saturday April 20 at 10-4pm."

"We have a vibrant blend of 14 staff, mainly primary carers.

"We employ: a warehouse team of 5, a shop team of 5, a Referral Lead, a Out Reach Activities Lead, a Marketing Manager and a Director."

"For all of this to be under threat due to the sale of our home is heart breaking. We have come so far and our work has grown to include so many local families that we would love to stay here at Brimscombe Mill.

"For now, we are searching for a property that can hold all of the business that work together to care for our community. Whilst we work out what the future holds, it is business as usual."
