A HAPPY hairdresser in Stroud has called it a day after nearly 25 years in business. 

After nearly 24 years running AJs Unisex hair salon in Westward Road. Stroud, grandmother Alison Birch has finally called it a day. 

Treating hundreds of ladies, gentlemen and children in the Stroud area, Alison says she has had some fantastic time and wonderful stories to tell. 

In her time, Alison has employed and trained dozens of staff over the years at the hair salon, which closes next month. 

Husband Martin Birch said: "For Alison, it was never just hair treatments at the salon... AJs has always been a pillar of the local community, a guaranteed news hub for local events and of course fun gossip. 

"Ali now feels it's time to walk away and put away the scissors and comb to spend more time with the family and precious grandchildren!!

The last day of business will be Saturday, May 18 and all clients, family and friends are welcome to call in for a drink and to say goodbye.
