TRAFFIC halted to a standstill on the M5 this morning after a car caught fire.
Motorists travelling on the M5 between Junction 15 and Junction 14 were stopped in both directions while emergency services attended the incident.
The fire has now been extinguished and all lanes have reopened.
A spokesperson for National Highways South West said: "The fire has been extinguished and all lanes are now open on the M5 in both directions between J15 and J14.
"Please allow time for the delays to ease, approximately five miles of congestion remain in effect."
