A Stroud man who has denied charges of rape and assault was freed on bail on Tuesday pending developments in his case at Gloucester Crown Court.
Recorder David Barnett adjourned the case pending a medical report and released Stephen Buckle, 37, on conditional bail.
Until today Buckle, who has denied rape on November 17th last year and two offences of assault causing actual bodily harm in Feb-April and then in November last year, has been on remand in custody.
But Recorder Barnett granted him bail on condition he resides with his parents in Bisley road, Stroud, and does not contact his alleged victim or go within a one mile radius of her home.
The Recorder adjourned the case till August 19.
