A Forest Green Rovers fan who was involved in a road collision on the A46 last Tuesday, has died in Hospital.

Ryan Lee, 31, from Nailsworth, was travelling from his place of work to take his seat on one of the supporter's coaches taking fans to Meadow Lane, Notts County's homeground.

The incident happened at 11.05am on Tuesday, January 19 at the A46 between Dunkirk and Calcot crossroads near Wotton-under-Edge and involved the Mr Lee's Honda motorbike and a blue van.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

He was treated for life threatening injuries at Royal United Hospital, Bath following the accident.

Mr Lee was the grandson of the late and former vice chairman at the club Wilf Riley.

His death follows that of fellow Forest Green Rovers fan Paul Davis, 50, from Rodborough, who had a heart attack after the FA Cup match in Nottingham.

FGR spokesman Colin Peake said: "This is devasting news for the club to receive after the sudden death of Paul Davis.

"We were aware of Ryans accident as members of his family and friends had waited for him to turn up for the coach they were on before they set off towards Nottingham.

"This is a double tradegy to strike us but as with Paul Davis our condolenes go out to Ryans family, friends and work colleagues.

"We have been in liaison with the family following the news and we will give what support we can to them as Ryan gave to the club."
