A MOTHER-OF-TWO from North Woodchester is flying into Haiti today, Wednesday to hand out vital equipment to homeless earthquake survivors.
Liz Odell, 51, will help distribute about 3,000 packs containing tents and other essentials for charity ShelterBox.
"For me this is just a way of giving back," said Liz, of Selsely Road.
"We can’t help everyone who is out there but if we can make a difference to a few of the families then it is worth it."
Liz flew to the Dominican Republic yesterday, Tuesday and will today take a UN aeroplane across the border to Haiti.
During the 23-day stay, she will help deliver special boxes to people living in and around Port-au-Prince.
The boxes contain a 10-person tent, which Liz will help families to erect, plus other essentials including thermal blankets, a multi-fuel stove and cooking utensils.
