Over the past two weeks there have been several reports to Gloucestershire Constabulary of criminal damage that has been caused to the boundary fence of Box Woods in Minchampton.

Box Woods are owned by the Novalis Trust. On a nearly daily basis over the last two weeks the fence has been either cut or the posts and signs pulled up, possibly by people wishing to use the woods to walk through.

Gloucestershire Constabulary and the Novalis Trust would like to remind members of public that Box woods are private property. There are however public footpaths through Box woods which are clearly marked out and should be kept to by those wishing to walk through the area.

CCTV has been installed throughout the wood which is assisting the police in indentifying those committing criminal damage.

Stroud Safer Communities Team are working closely with the Novalis trust and will be taking positive action against anybody that is caught.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 360 of March 17. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
