TWO new Nailsworth town councillors were elected on Thursday after a by-election took place. Gail Smith, an independent, received 661 votes and Myles Robinson, a Liberal Democrat, received 531 votes. They will take the empty seats left by Alan Wheeler and John Bratby, who resigned after a disagreement with other members about a planned permanent Forest Green Community Centre. Ashley Fudge, who did not declare a party, received 436 votes. Only 21.2 per cent of 4,684 residents turned out to vote.
