A SECOND minor earthquake in as many weeks struck just outside the Five Valleys near North Nibley on Monday morning, August 9.
The quake, measuring 1.6 on the Richter Scale, was recorded by the British Geological Survey close to the M5 near Michaelwood Services around 11.25am.
A larger tremor measuring 2.7 occurred at Alkington, near Berkeley, around 11.40pm on Friday, July 30.
Seismologists reckon we experience around five earthquakes of this magnitude in the UK every year.
