TWO men have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in Painswick in which a man was assaulted.
The incident occurred around 8.25pm on Tuesday, January 11, when a couple returned to their home in Bisley Street and found an intruder inside.
He assaulted one of the residents, a 61-year-old man, before running from the address.
The victim suffered a cut to his head and was taken to Stroud Hospital for treatment before being released a few hours later.
A bag and a silver plated coaster have been reported as stolen.
Two men, aged 18 and 21, were arrested yesterday evening, January 12, in connection with the incident.
They have been bailed to return to Stroud police station on March 22, pending further inquiries.
Investigating officers continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area on Tuesday to contact them on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 421 of January 11.
